FAQs  Frequently Asked Questions

These are questions we hear often from people who are new to financial planning or considering a change. They're worth asking before you decide to work with anyone.

  • Yes. As an investment fiduciary in advisory relationships, we are legally and ethically obligated to act in your best interest. Recommendations here are based on what fits your situation, not on what generates a commission. David holds both the CFP® and CFA® designations, each requiring rigorous study, examinations, and a strict code of ethics. Together, they reflect a level of expertise and accountability that goes well beyond the baseline required to practice in this field.

  • Very. Clients reach us by phone, email, virtual meeting, or in person, and if someone wants to stop by without a scheduled appointment, the door is open. Every answer comes with the reasoning behind it and the alternatives we considered, so questions get real responses rather than callbacks.

  • Working with a planner adds two things that are difficult to sustain independently: a view of the complete financial picture and a structure that connects your individual decisions together. Managing finances alone means making good calls with the information and time available, but coordinating a complete plan across all areas of financial life over the long term is a different challenge. Every recommendation here comes with the reasoning behind it, because a plan someone genuinely understands is one they're far more likely to see through.

  • The first meeting is a conversation, not a commitment. There's no obligation and nothing to decide on the spot. We work with a wide range of people, from families managing competing financial priorities to pre-retirees, business owners, and those navigating significant life changes. What tends to matter most is a genuine interest in understanding your financial picture and a willingness to engage in the process. If that sounds like you, a first conversation is worth having.
